1. ๐ How the Shop Works
The shop in Keep on Mining! - Worlds sells session-based power-ups using gems as currency (with some items using bars). Unlike the permanent skill tree, all shop purchases reset at the start of each new session. This means you re-buy your shop stack every session, making gem income efficiency directly proportional to your shop power.
Every shop item can be upgraded using additional gems. Upgrades persist as long as you keep that item in your current session but also reset with sessions. The exception is the base unlock of Gunpowder Shots โ once unlocked from bars, the projectile system remains available to purchase from the shop in all future sessions.
To maximize shop efficiency, invest in the Gem Value skill tree branch and equip the Moonwound Steel pickaxe when entering high gem density worlds like the Erupting Volcano. The Gem Rain talent card further supplements gem income by triggering bonus showers every 50 rocks.
2. ๐ Optimal Buy Order Every Session
Always first. Enables passive auto-mining immediately.
Buy second once unlocked. Single-target DPS prevents bottlenecks on high HP rocks.
Skip in early worlds. In Volcano, buy immediately after Gunpowder Shots.
Buy if building a Speed Miner achievement run or in Up in the Air.
Quality of life in late-game worlds. Skip entirely in early worlds.
Artifact hunting runs only. Skip in standard sessions.

3 Mines
Automation Critical - Buy firstAdds 3 passive auto-mining units that collect ore every few seconds without player input.
The 3 Mines is the single most important early purchase in Keep on Mining Worlds. It enables idle progression and unlocks the Auto Mining achievement. Buy this before any other shop item.
Lava Beer
Rock Modifier High in Volcano worldReduces all rock HP by 3% for the duration of the session.
Lava Beer is especially valuable in the Erupting Volcano where rocks already have modified HP. Stacking multiple Lava Beer purchases compounds the reduction and speeds up clear times significantly.
Gunpowder Shots
Offensive High - Buy before VolcanoUnlocks Gunpowder Shot projectiles. Every 10 pickaxe swings fires a Gunpowder Shot dealing 5x normal damage to a single rock.
Gunpowder Shots are mandatory for the Erupting Volcano world in Keep on Mining Worlds. The high single-target damage cuts through lava rocks efficiently. Upgrade to 5-swing cooldown for maximum uptime.
Ore Magnet
Collection MediumAutomatically collects all dropped ore within a 30% wider radius.
Ore Magnet prevents missed ore drops in high-density worlds like Street Corner. While not critical early, it becomes valuable in late-game worlds where rock destruction is rapid and ore can fall off-screen.
Swift Hammer
Speed Medium - Speed buildsIncreases active pickaxe swing speed by 15% for the session.
Swift Hammer is best combined with the Swift Pickaxe talent card. Together they provide around 35% swing speed increase, making it the core of a Speed Miner achievement run.
Rock Scanner
Utility Low - Artifact hunting onlyReveals the hidden HP values of all rocks on screen. Highlights rocks containing artifacts in gold.
Rock Scanner is a niche buy primarily for the Artifact Collector achievement run. The artifact highlight feature in its upgraded form makes finding rare artifacts significantly easier. Skip it for standard efficiency runs.
4. ๐ Gem Economy Tips
Since shop items reset every session, your gem income rate determines how powerful your shop stack is in any given session. Here are the most impactful ways to increase gem income in Keep on Mining! - Worlds:
- Skill Tree: Gem Value branch โ Max this to Level 5 for a cumulative +75% gem value multiplier. Every gem drop is worth 1.75x its base value. Reference: Skill Tree guide.
- Pickaxe: Moonwound Steel โ Equip Bonus doubles all gem income for the entire session. In gem-rich worlds like the Erupting Volcano, this is equivalent to doubling your shop budget. Reference: Pickaxes guide.
- Talent Card: Gem Rain โ Triggers a gem shower every 50 rocks destroyed. In a typical 10-minute session with Mining Speed Level 5, this fires 8-12 times. Stack with Moonwound Steel for compounded gem income.
- World: Erupting Volcano โ Highest base gem spawn rate in the game. Run dedicated Moonwound Steel + Gem Rain + Gem Value sessions here to generate enough gems to fully upgrade 3 Mines and Gunpowder Shots in every subsequent session.
